Tax Specialist (Remote in Spain)

At FYUL we’re looking for a motivated, hands-on Tax Specialist for our international tax team. This role will play a key role within FYUL's tax practice working closely with accounting, reporting and other business and finance departments.
In this role, you will be a key contributor in helping, designing and implementing tax policies and strategies while evaluating managerial processes to ensure compliance with relevant statutes and regulatory codes. The position also requires tax planning and reporting, including control of the filing of tax returns. Your daily tasks will include:
Research and keen understanding of tax legislation with a focus on monitoring changes and updates. Capable of assessing potential impacts on business operations and proactively preparing teams to navigate forthcoming challenges.
Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to optimise financial performance
Identify tax savings and suggest ways to increase profits
Review operations and procedures to ensure compliance with local statutes and regulations
Oversee and manage all tax-related tasks, including preparation, filing, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations across the regions assigned
Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors and tax authorities, as needed.
Design and implement international tax policies
Skilled in serving as the primary point of contact for tax queries from business teams, promptly addressing inquiries and providing comprehensive responses in a simple way.
Your qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, audit or related field
Proven experience as a Tax Accountant, Tax Analyst, or similar 2-4 years
Strong knowledge of tax regulations, preferably international, as well as accounting laws and procedures
Computer literacy in accounting software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics365
Continuous necessity of independent self-development
Outstanding detail-oriented analytical skills
Good communication skills
Time planning according to priorities, meeting the deadlines

Practical Task
