Director of Facilities

About the role: We are seeking an experienced Director of Facilities to lead multi-site operations across Europe and North America, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective management of both industrial and office facilities. In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of Facility Managers and Office Administrators and developing a facility management strategy.
Your daily tasks will include:
Team management
- Lead a high-performing, multi-national Facilities and Office Administration team, fostering knowledge exchange, collaboration, and high morale within the team.
- Set and maintain high standards for quality, efficiency, and accountability within the team.
Facilities management
- Oversee all company-leased buildings globally (offices and production sites), ensuring full compliance with legal, regulatory, and Environmental, Health & Safety standards.
- Prepare monthly Fixed Cost and Administration budgets and CapEx investment budgets, ensuring adherence to the said budgets throughout the year.
Project management
- Manage improvement projects for multiple company buildings in cooperation with local facility managers. Ensure that the projects are of high quality at the best possible price.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and collaborate with local building managers to implement them.
- Lead a cost-effective and timely opening, closing, and relocation of company buildings as required by the business needs.
The position requires working in overlapping Europe / North America time zones, frequent work from the local office, and travel to company buildings in Europe and North America as needed.
Your qualifications:
Facilities Management
- 5+ years of experience in Facilities Management and Safety across multiple jurisdictions (preferably in Europe and North America), including industrial facilities. Experience in office facility management will be considered an advantage.
- Proven ability to manage budgets effectively, apply the three-quote approach to ensure best-value servicing, and maintain an optimal balance between insourced and outsourced service providers.
Team Leadership
- Experience in leading a team of 5+ employees and an extended, indirect team of 30+ people.
- Proven ability to develop and grow internal talent.
Customer Focus
- Proven ability to implement change initiatives while maintaining medium to high levels of employee satisfaction.
- Skilled at managing diverse stakeholder groups (shareholders, management, employees) and balancing multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated commitment to enforcing high service standards for internal customers and outsourced service providers.
Operational Strategy & Execution
- Experience in developing multi-facility, multi-year real estate and facilities management strategies, evaluating CapEx requirements against operating costs, estimating ROI, and guiding investment decisions.
- Strong ability to work cross-functionally with teams such as Talent, Design, and Finance to deliver integrated project outcomes.
- Proficient in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with C-level executives, the Operations Leadership Team, and local site teams.

Practical Task
