People Operations Specialist

About the role:
The People Operations Specialist is responsible for managing the full lifecycle and ongoing administration of international contractors. This role ensures compliance with local regulations, smooth operational processes, and a positive experience for contractors and internal stakeholders. The position works closely with managers, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to support a globally distributed workforce.
Your daily tasks will include:
International Contractor Management:
Manage end-to-end contractor lifecycle: onboarding, contract administration, changes, renewals, and offboarding.
Act as the main point of contact for international contractors regarding operational and people-related questions.
Ensure accurate documentation, records, and data maintenance across HR systems.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure contractor engagements comply with local labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
Partner with Legal, Finance to mitigate misclassification risks.
Contracts & Payments:
Coordinate contractor agreements, amendments, and renewals.
Support invoice submission, validation, and payment processes in collaboration with Finance.
Ensure contractor compensation aligns with approved budgets and contractual terms.
Systems & Data Management:
Maintain contractor data in HRIS and related systems (e.g. HiBob, contractor platforms).
Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and GDPR compliance.
Stakeholder Support:
Advise managers on best practices for engaging international contractors.
Collaborate with Talent Partners, Finance, Legal, Recruitment teams.
Provide guidance during audits, internal reviews, or compliance checks.
Your qualifications:
2–4+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or a similar role.
Proven experience managing international contractors across multiple countries.
Strong understanding of contractor compliance, tax, and labor considerations.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with global teams and distributed workforces.
Understanding of GDPR and data privacy requirements.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Our Hiring Process
Intro Chat
If our Talent Acquisition Team believes that you could be a great fit for the role, we’ll invite you to a 30-45-minute introductory call. Our goal is to learn about your relevant experiences, skills, and motivations. This is also your chance to ask any questions you may have about FYUL.
Practical Task
Some roles require our candidates to complete a practical assignment. It helps us assess your problem-solving skills and your ability to complete the duties required for the role.
These can come in the form of a take-home assignment or a live session where a dedicated team member will guide you through the process and answer any of your questions.
Hiring Manager Interview
The next step is a 30-60-minute call to meet the hiring manager. The goal of this call is to assess if you have the skills necessary for the role. Expect more detailed questions about your experience and some situational or behavioral questions.
Decision and Offer
Once all of your interviews are done, our team will get together to review everyone’s feedback and make a decision.
If we decide that you are the best candidate for the role, our recruiter will reach out to you with an offer.
Once you have accepted the offer, our HR Operations Team will contact you to walk you through the contract signing process.
